Job Description

This is a remote position with up to 50% domestic travel required. Candidates may reside anywhere in the United States.

The HCV Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is national in scope and responsible for the strategic direction that uncovers and accelerates MAVYRET business results. This includes 1. driving perceptual differentiation in the market of both AbbVie and MAVYRET, 2. identifying & optimizing HCV elimination partnerships, and 3. strategically unlocking market growth opportunities. They lead a team of regional TLLs that serve as the in-field marketing leaders that execute upon set strategy.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Deep understanding the HCV market drivers, competitive landscape, and provider dynamics, ensuring evolution of these elements are reflected in brand strategy. 
  • Sets TLL strategy and collaborates on HCP and Consumer marketing strategy, resource optimization, and tactic development. 
  • Partners with Senior Leaders to identify key marketing opportunities/projects nationally.  
  • Acts as a conduit between sales and marketing to effectively bridge the communication and business gaps and quickly act on opportunities both nationally and regionally.  
  • Set KOL strategy and lead in-field execution, including identifying future leaders that accelerate business results. Plans all externally facing activities that liaise with KOLs (Sponsorships, Conventions, AdBoards, etc.).  
  • Leads a team of regional TLL's in in the development and execution of customized marketing plans to ensure optimized tactical execution of key business initiatives as measured by key performance indicators. 
  • Coordinate the work of multiple external vendors and internal departments including Agency Partners, Marketing, Market Research, Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Corporate Compliance, Consumer Marketing and BTS. 
  • Manage TLL promotional budget.  
  • HCV specific considerations: 
  • Identify opportunities and establish account-based execution plans within alternative, low barrier treatment models (ex: SAMSHA grant recipients). 
  • Oversee, and continuously, evolve the HCV elimination ("ELIMINation") program to maximize strategic impact.   
  • Ensure TLL team function as strategic connectors from external opportunities to internal execution teams.   
  • Maintain contractual obligations for specific Medicaid exclusive states, including thoughtful partnership with external state partners.   
  • Create strategy that drives smart market growth and oversee execution of that strategy ensuring business results are tracked and met.  
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree. 
  • 8+ years of relevant sales, sales management, or marketing experience with at least 2 years with Hepatology/Virology/Addiction Medicine. 3+ years of HCP related activities (ex: knowledge of marketing concepts within strategic planning and tactical plan creation and execution). 
  • Agency/vendor management experience. 
  • Efficient project management and communication capabilities along with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills 
  • Strong collaboration and team orientation, with experience accomplishing results through others and influencing others.  
  • Quick learner and ability to deal with ambiguity/ limited data and make quality decisions.  
  • Must be a self-starter and work well independently as well as in a team setting. 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand medical/clinical aspects of a pharmaceutical product and its application to marketing strategy and tactical execution. 
  • Experience deriving insights from the analysis of quantitative and qualitative market research and data. 
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally to support brand objectives. 
  • An essential requirement of your position is to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations that are in your assigned territory. You must also be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials.
  • Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.
  • Valid driver's license: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Deep knowledge of current HCV market.  
  • Addiction Medicine market knowledge. 
  • Sales and/or sales management experience. 
  • Patient Advocacy experience preferred. 

Travel: 50%
