CMDB Configuration Manager (ServiceNow)- IT Service Management

Work location: Texas Health Resources, 612 East Lamar Blvd, Arlington, TX 76011

Primarily remote however must live in the DFW area.

Work hours: Full-time, Day shift; 40 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Here's What You Need

Education

       Bachelor's Degree Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or relevant field. 4 Years Relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. Req

Experience

       7 years experience overseeing a CMDB with large data volume, completing data integrity checks with a Bachelor's degree. (Required) or

       11 years relevant work experience to include at least 7 years experience overseeing a CMDB with large data volume, completing data integrity checks with no degree. (Required) and

       2 years experience working with CMDB in Service Now. (Highly Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

       ITIL Foundation (Preferred) And

       ITIL Advanced (Preferred)

What You Will Do

The CMDB Program Manager is responsible for the overall governance, integrity, and maturity of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role ensures that configuration data is accurate, complete, and trusted across IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and asset lifecycle processes. This role will develop and oversee the overall strategy with a view to our practical needs/application while partnering closely with infrastructure, application, and service teams to establish enterprise CMDB standards.

CMDB Governance & Data Integrity

       Define, implement, and maintain CMDB governance policies, standards, and procedures.

       Establish CI ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle management rules.

       Enforce naming conventions, mandatory attributes, and data quality thresholds.

       Define data-quality KPIs and reporting mechanisms.

ServiceNow Discovery & Service Mapping

       Govern ServiceNow Discovery and ensure reliable automated CI population.

       Oversee Service Mapping for accurate business service and dependency mapping.

       Maintain discovery patterns, credentials, and schedules.

       Validate discovered data with technical teams.

       Common Service Data Model (CSDM)

       Lead adoption and enforcement of CSDM standards.

       Align business services, applications, and infrastructure to CSDM.

       Guide remediation of non-compliant CI structures.

Auditing & Reconciliation

       Conduct regular CMDB audits.

       Reconcile discrepancies across discovery, asset, and external sources.

       Identify and remediate stale, duplicate, or unauthorized CIs.

Process Improvement & Optimization

       Drive CMDB maturity improvements and automation.

       Partner with ServiceNow admins to enhance workflows and integrations.

       Support platform optimization initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration

       Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and asset teams.

       Enable Incident, Change, Problem, and Asset Management processes.

       Communicate CMDB risks, value, and improvements to leadership.
