We are seeking an experienced SEO Director to lead our Small Business, LLM optimization and growth initiatives, reporting to the VP of Growth. In this role you will lead SEO teams and work closely with the Editorial and Methodology & Testing teams to develop best-in-class content to rank in highly competitive SERPs on one of the world's most respected sites.
This role requires a combination of strategic planning, controlled testing, team mentoring, and hands-on work with a tireless focus on removing obstacles to get things done.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a documented, forward-looking SEO strategy for your verticals
  • Manage and mentor your SEO team, helping them to level up and ensuring everyone is working on the right priorities
  • Design and build tests to understand how to optimize for LLMs and own LLM optimization/AEO
  • Design and build SEO tests to understand how to improve performance
  • Drive A/B testing and CRO in your verticals
  • Manage cross-functional partnerships with conflicting priorities to maintain a productive workflow across all teams
  • Develop new ways to generate uniquely valuable data to set our content clearly above the competition
  • Defend content quality standards against revenue and productivity pressures
  • Get things done: identify and remove roadblocks for your team, dig in and work alongside them when necessary. Be the person who makes things happen.
  • Drive bottom-line revenue in your verticals
  • Rely solely on publicly defensible white-hat SEO

Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in SEO with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Experience at an in-house SEO role in publishing or other content focused site

  • Experience with LLM optimization/AEO
