Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team at Murray Counseling Services, located in Rochester, New York. This position focuses specifically on providing essential mental health support to a geriatric population, addressing their unique needs related to aging, loss, and life transitions. As a vital member of our remote Community Health Clinic, you will play a critical role in enhancing the mental well-being of seniors through evidence-based counseling methodologies.

Work Environment

This full-time position allows for flexible remote work, enabling you to provide counseling services in an environment that is both conducive to your well-being and tailored to meet the needs of our elderly clients. You will primarily work Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional evenings or weekends required to accommodate client appointments. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough client assessments to determine mental health needs and develop comprehensive treatment plans that include crisis intervention strategies, safety planning, and behavioral guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Utilize a range of evidence-based screening tools and therapeutic techniques designed specifically for geriatric clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement positive behavior support plans and ensure high-quality mental health services.
  • Engage in community outreach and serve as an effective liaison with relevant service systems, agencies, and healthcare partners to optimize client care.
  • Participate actively in professional development opportunities, including conferences and workshops that enhance your skills and knowledge related to geriatric mental health.
  • Promote the values and mission of Murray Counseling Services within the community and assist in initiatives that support mental health awareness.
  • Perform additional administrative and clinical duties as assigned by the Clinic Director to help meet the evolving needs of the clinic.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
  • At least 4 years of recent clinical experience working with elderly clients in a counseling setting.
  • A strong understanding of ethical and legal standards in mental health counseling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathy and cultural sensitivity to serve a diverse elderly clientele.
