Job description

We are partnered with a wonderful organization seeking a Senior Application Engineer with technical expertise and strong functional knowledge of hospital Revenue Cycle operations. This individual will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining applications and data solutions that support financial and operational workflows within a healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on engineering capabilities with a strong understanding of patient accounting, billing processes, and reporting requirements within a hospital setting.

This is a remote 2-year contract that is salaried only. Must work West Coast business hours.

What will I be doing?

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and data solutions supporting Revenue Cycle operations
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate operational and reporting requirements into technical solutions
  • Optimize and support SQL Server environments, ETL processes, and reporting platforms
  • Build and maintain integrations and automated workflows across systems
  • Support Epic Clarity reporting and data extraction needs related to Hospital Billing (HB)
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across applications, databases, and reporting layers
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all solutions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including IT, finance, and operations to drive continuous improvement

What requirements do I need?

Healthcare / Revenue Cycle:

  • Strong knowledge of hospital Revenue Cycle operations, including patient accounting, billing, claims, and collections processes
  • Experience working with healthcare data models and financial workflows

Database Administration:

  • Proven experience performing core MS SQL Server DBA tasks, including:
    • Indexing
    • Performance tuning
    • Backup and recovery
    • Security management

ETL Engineering:

  • Minimum 5 years of Extensive experience designing, building, debugging, and optimizing complex SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) packages
  • Strong ability to manage complex queries and data transformations and workflows

Web Development:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in .NET C# web application development
  • Experience with application architecture and deployment in IIS environments

Business Intelligence & Reporting:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing advanced SSRS reports, including:
    • Matrix and highly formatted reporting layouts
    • Experienced with both scheduled and triggered SSRS reports

Job Scheduling / Automation:

  • Minimum 1 year of Experience developing and managing enterprise workflows using JAMS Scheduler, including job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting

Epic Certification:

  • Active Epic Hospital Billing (HB) Clarity Report Writer certification is required
