Job description

American Vascular is adding a Director of Clinical Technology & Data Systems to our PE backed, practice management group. The Director will be responsible for leading AVA's healthcare technology strategy, data infrastructure, EMR ecosystem, and AI-driven op initiatives. It will oversees enterprise healthcare IT operations, data management, analytics platforms, and system integrations to improve operational efficiencies, clinical workflows, reporting accuracy, business intelligence capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong healthcare IT leadership with practical knowledge of emerging AI technologies, healthcare EMRs, data extraction methodologies, database management, and enterprise project management. This individual will work cross-functionally with clinical, operational, and executive teams to optimize healthcare technology systems and support strategic growth initiatives.

This is a full time, fully remote position. The Director reports directly to the CEO. We offer a full comp, benefit package that includes med/dent/vision, 401k w/corp match, unlimited PTO, salary range of 125K to 150K, based on experience, skills match, education, training, annual bonuses. There will be some travel w/in the US to our Practices, Corp office, Board meetings, when necessary.

What You Would Be Responsible For

  • Lead and manage the organizationโ€™s healthcare IT infrastructure, systems, and technology initiatives.
  • Develop and execute strategic IT plans aligned with organizational goals, operational priorities.
  • Provide leadership for IT staff, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional project teams.
  • Establish IT governance, security, compliance, and best practices across the organization.
  • Manage departmental budgets, contracts, and technology investments.

AI & Healthcare Technology Innovation

  • Evaluate, implement, optimize AI tech that enhances healthcare ops, workflow automation, analytics, EMR efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for AI-driven process improvement, predictive analytics, and operational optimization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop AI strategies supporting clinical & business initiatives.

EMR & Clinical Systems Management

  • Lead EMR implementations, (eCW) upgrades, optimizations, & transition projects.
  • Manage integration between EMR systems & third-party healthcare applications.
  • Partner with clinical and operational teams to improve EMR workflows, reporting, & user adoption.
  • Ensure data integrity, interoperability, compliance, system performance across healthcare platforms.

Data Management & Analytics

  • Oversee healthcare data extraction, transformation, reporting, and analysis processes.
  • Manage enterprise data platforms, analytics systems, dashboards, & reporting tools.
  • Design and maintain scalable database structures, data architecture solutions.

What we want to see from you

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
  • Demonstrated of progressive healthcare IT experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership or management experience in healthcare IT environments.
  • Experience with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks, OmniMD, Athenahealth & Nextgen), healthcare data platforms, clinical system integrations & implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare data extraction, analytics, reporting methodologies.
  • Experience managing database structures, data architecture, enterprise data management.
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading enterprise healthcare technology initiatives.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare compliance, cybersecurity standards.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR), data integration technologies.
