Location: Remote (United States)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Our client is seeking a Budget Operations Specialist to support global clinical trial operations by managing investigator budgets, site setup, and payment-related data throughout the lifecycle of clinical studies. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in clinical research, investigator budgets, contracts, and site payment operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate budget setup, maintaining study data, and collaborating with sponsors, CROs, and investigative sites to support efficient clinical trial execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage study-specific global investigator budget processes from study startup through closeout.
  • Review and reconcile study budgets, contracts, amendments, payment schedules, protocols, and related documentation.
  • Set up investigative sites and maintain study information within the organization's clinical payment platform.
  • Enter and maintain baseline study budgets, site-specific budgets, budget amendments, and payee information.
  • Ensure investigator budgets align with Clinical Trial Agreements and protocol amendments.
  • Respond to budget-related inquiries from sponsors, CROs, and investigative sites.
  • Research and resolve budget discrepancies and data issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate study documentation and payment-related records.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, sponsors, CROs, and investigative sites.
  • Stay current on study changes, contract updates, and protocol amendments that impact budgets and payments.
  • Support additional operational projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical research, biopharmaceuticals, or a related healthcare environment.
  • Experience working with investigator contracts, study budgets, and/or site payment operations.
  • Understanding of protocol amendments and their impact on investigator budgets, subject visits, contracts, and payment schedules.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to changing technologies and processes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-facing approach.
  • Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify mathematical, grammatical, and documentation errors.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and budgeting principles is preferred.
