Job description

A Virtual Chief Information Officer's (vCIO) reports to the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) and is responsible for leveraging their expertise in applying information technology to help mid-size companies to meet and exceed their business objectives. The ideal profile for this position is someone who has deep understanding of current information technologies, business expertise in an industry vertical and a proven track record of advising and or leading business transformation.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties:
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the client's specific needs including applications, infrastructure, and clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Assist clients in developing, maintaining, and managing an IT budget that meets their operational and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain written strategic technology roadmaps that address the clients evolving needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction to clients by leveraging technologies that enhance resident care, optimize staff workflows, and ensure compliance.
  • Advise clients on regulatory requirements and support compliance efforts through appropriate technology solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to offer innovative solutions that address sector-specific challenges.
  • Conduct IT risk management assessments, focusing on minimizing risks to EPHI data, operational continuity, and care quality.
  • Lead regular Executive Business Review meetings with C-level executives, administrators, and department heads to review IT strategy and outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Good conceptual knowledge of IT infrastructure, clinical and administrative workflows, and software systems used in long-term care facilities.
  • Knowledgeable in healthcare compliance, regulations, and technology standards specific to healthcare.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
  • Strong business acumen with a focus on the financial and operational challenges unique to the Orthopedic industry.
  • Superior organization, leadership, and facilitation skills, particularly in a healthcare setting.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree required in related field.
  • 10 + years of experience in IT consulting or prior experience as CIO in specific industry vertical.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to communicate business benefits of technology investments.
  • Strong foundation in financial management with the ability to translate technology investments into financial terms.
  • Proven track record of maintaining C-level relationships as a trusted advisor

Physical Demands:
