What you'll be doing

As a Private Wealth Business Development Officer (BDO), you are responsible for sourcing and acquiring new private wealth clients (individuals, family offices, endowments and foundations). You will leverage your industry expertise and network to identify opportunities, foster partnerships, and deliver bespoke wealth solutions in collaboration with our talented team. You will work closely with Relationship Managers, Investment and Wealth Specialists, Bankers, Business Development Team Members, and other internal partners.

How you'll succeed

  • Business Development: Proactively identify, engage, and convert prospective clients.

  • Solution Delivery: Curate and partner with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to design and deliver solutions tailored to client needs.

  • Relationship Building: Develop, maintain and grow relationships with intermediaries, centers of influence and existing clients to generate referrals.

  • Market Development: Lead and organize promotional events, educational seminars and roundtables to develop new alliances and formal networks to grow CIBC's presence in the wealth management space.

  • You are an experienced wealth management professional with 10+ years of experience in wealth management, private banking or a related field.

  • You are a dynamic sales professional with a proven track record of acquiring and maintaining HNW relationships. You have a strong network and demonstrated ability to effectively raise assets.

  • You have market intelligence by staying abreast of industry trends, competitor activity and industry updates impacting HNW clients.

  • You are a strong communicator with exceptional communication (oral and written), presentation and interpersonal skills. Your delivery style reflects an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for growth.

This role has an expected salary range of $150,000 - $190,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
