American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH) is seeking a Sr Network Engineer I to join our Information Technology-Operations department. The Senior Network Engineer I is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and operational support of the enterprise network across on-premises and cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure networking. This role serves as a senior technical contributor, driving reliable connectivity, secure segmentation, and performance across Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco networking, and Meraki environments.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with Azure network architecture, hybrid connectivity, firewall policy management, and enterprise troubleshooting in complex environments. Salary Range American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $112,500 to $140,000 Full-Time Annual Salary Range.

Remote Worker Guidelines Remote Worker Guidelines: This position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network. The internet connection must have a consistent 50 down/10 up Mbps minimum internet speed.

100 down/20 up is recommended to support higher quality video meetings. Responsibilities Azure Design, implement, and support Azure network architectures, including VNets, NSGs, UDRs, Route Tables, and Private Endpoints/Links. Engineer and maintain hybrid connectivity to ensure secure link between on-prem and Azure instances.

Implement and optimize Azure network security requirements. Support cloud traffic management solutions such as Load balancers, Application Gateways, and related architecture. Partner with Platform Engineering and Admin teams to maintain a scalable network foundation for platform services, application modernization, and migration initiatives.

Collaborate with security on Palo Alto firewall rules and setup, ZTNA(Netskope) rules and support, DDoS, and other protection methods. Cisco and Meraki Configure and support Cisco network infrastructure. Administer and support Meraki networks (MX, MS, MR), including SD-WAN policies, traffic shaping, wireless RF optimization, and dashboard monitoring.

Drive network reliability improvements through proactive monitoring, lifecycle management, and performance tuning. Maintain system update requirements with junior level admins and engineers. Operations, Monitoring, & Incident Response Serve as a senior escalation point for complex network incidents and problem management; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.

Manage and utilize monitoring and telemetry tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Dynatrace, logs/flows) to identify trends, reduce downtime, and improve service health. Participate in change management processes, maintenance windows, and problem communications with clear operational documentation. Maintain a strong partnership with the security teams and participate in tabletop scenarios.

Be a trusted part of the remote incident response team. Acts as highest-level technical support, backup, and mentor. Provides support to systems support technicians for high-level support issues.

Performs end user technical support as needed. Acts as backup for systems support supervisor and help desk as needed. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cross-training and knowledge sharing.

Design, review, and provide communications related to project plans. Attends industry seminars, conferences, training classes, and reads industry journals to stay current on technology. Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a computer related field or equivalent experience. If equivalent experience, High School Diploma required.

8 years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering preferred. 4 years of experience in Azure Cloud architecture with a focus on networking aspects or proof of equivalent knowledge required. Strong experience with Cisco routing/switching in production environments.

Extensive experience with Azure Cloud Architecture. Strong experience with Meraki (MX/MS/MR) administration and operational support. Proficiency with network fundamentals and troubleshooting: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP/OSPF, VLANs, STP, NAT, VPNs, MTU, packet captures.

Palo Alto and Cisco firewall experience preferred. Scripting experience utilizing a language such as Python is helpful. Knowledge of security devices such as firewalls and DDoS prevention systems.

Expert level knowledge of log analysis utilizing tools such as SIEM and Wireshark for issue discovery. Proven ability to analyze and solve complex network issues. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

Ability to engage and effectively communicate with multiple parties during an incident. Ability to mentor junior level team members. Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident/Problem/Change) and enterprise documentation standards. Demonstrated ability to break down large projects and document all requirements, plus individual action items, with the ability to delegate tasks to other team members. Ability to document work, and sometimes lead a ScrumBan style environment with daily stand-up calls.

AZ-700 Azure Network Engineer within 120 Days required. and CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional preferred. or Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist within 120 Days preferred.
