Job description

ABOUT US
Founded and self-funded by serial entrepreneurs with a track record of success, we are a start-up software and services platform operating in the residential construction space with an emphasis on solar and renewable energy projects. Our goal is to fundamentally alter the residential solar landscape. We believe that our unique mix of software, managed service offerings, highly skilled staff, and company culture are positioned to do just that, and the industry is already taking notice. As we enter our 3rd year in business, we have established a clear product-market fit and are experiencing exponential growth in all the important metrics including customers, deal pipeline, revenue, profitability, and headcount. Today, our customers include many of the largest residential solar installers (EPCs) and sales organizations in the industry as well as many mid-size regional players. At this time, we are seeking talented Solar Operations Engineers to join a growing team in which there are ample opportunities for leadership and advancement.
ABOUT THE JOB
This 100% remote (work from home) position is a unique opportunity for experienced residential solar professionals who have expertise in the key areas of in field solar electrical/interconnection, project management, and customer service. Solar Operations Engineers oversee a pipeline of projects with the mandate of proactively hunting for any issues or complexity that might result in project delays before they happen and relentlessly digging into complexity once it presents itself to reach resolution and get the project moving again. As opposed to traditional project management positions in solar, the emphasis here is on a proactive approach to the potential and actual problem jobs rather than working on all of the jobs in the pipeline and dealing with issues reactively after the fact. We have seen that candidates who have extensive in field installation and electrical experience in addition to project management and customer service are those that are most successful and impactful in this role.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of hands‐on, in field residential solar installation electrical work and/or 500+ installs.
Master or Journeyman electrician license.
1+ year of residential solar project management/coordination experience including coordinating with all relevant stakeholders such as sub contractors, installers, design/engineering, utilities, municipal building departments, etc.
Professional experience using CRMs such as Salesforce and project management software such as Monday.com, Jira, Asana, etc.
Positive, proactive, "get it done" start‐up mentality.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Solar Operations Engineers are overlaid on top of robust project management teams including design, project coordination, customer service, and others. Most projects don't require the intervention of the Solar Operations Engineer. However, those projects that include change orders, complicated electrical circumstances, and other complexity that require identifying the root causes and aligning all the teams to move forward are the ones that make projects go over time and budget. These complex/problem projects are the ones that make overall average install durations soar. Solar Operations Engineers lean on their electrical expertise as well their overall well‐rounded experience in the residential solar industry to lean forward proactively with a bias towards action and relentless follow up to relentlessly drive average project durations down by focusing on complex problem jobs and getting them back on track.
WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?
The business has an established product market fit, skyrocketing demand, exponential customer growth, and it's future is limited only by our ability to streamline operations to accommodate the demand and take market share. This is an ideal opportunity in a growing team and a growing company to grow your career. Opportunities for advancement and career development abound and we promote from within based on performance. For your hard work, you will receive:
100% work from home.
A generous base salary, DOE.
Generous bonus as % of salary, DOE.
Generous stipend for health insurance, benefits, etc.
So if you are an experienced Solar Operations Engineer looking for an opportunity to take the next step in their career while learning at the feet of successful, serial‐entrepreneurs, apply now as interviews are ongoing!
