Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a Aviation Program Manager to join our global flight operations, regulatory affairs, and standards team. This role is hybrid based in Palo Alto, CA or Remote, US and will report to the Senior Manager of Aviation Programs. As our organization scales, we are building a repeatable, scalable, and transparent framework for major projects and programs within our aviation operations teams. The Aviation Program Manager will serve as the connective tissue between our strategic aviation initiatives framework and cross-functional teams across the company.
In this role, you will manage aviation operations project and program lifecycles, from initial conceptualization to final deployment. You will be responsible for working with team leads and formalizing workflows, managing complex dependencies, and ensuring that the global flight operations, regulatory affairs, and standards team is fully integrated into the broader organizational initiatives. You will help drive accountability through transparency from clear project documentation that is readily accessible across the company and aligned with key internal stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Facilitate flight operations team initiatives (e.g., new technology, CONOP changes, etc.) from concept to deployment, proactively increasing transparency and resolving blocking issues.
  • Oversee complex, cross functional efforts focused on flight operations to ensure seamless operational integration.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans that treat external dependencies as milestones to enforce accountability across partner teams.
  • Provide the global flight operations, regulatory affairs, and standards leadership team with visibility into resource trade offs for projects and initiatives and their impact on other core flight operations programs.
  • Maintain high fidelity dashboards to highlight project status, successes, and critical blockers for leadership review.
  • Support global standardization of operational practices to drive harmonized operations across regulatory environments.
  • Leverage AI-driven systems to extract actionable insights and create efficiencies across teams, programs, and projects.
What You'll Need
  • 8+ years of experience managing programs, preferably aviation related.
  • BA/BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior experience managing projects and/or programs involving scaled physical operations where hardware, personnel, and the environment interact
  • A proven track record of managing complex, cross functional projects in an aviation or high tech engineering environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation operations, airspace, and aviation regulatory environments.|
  • The ability to move fluidly between high level strategic planning and "in the weeds" blocker resolution.
  • Experience communicating with executive level stakeholders and a talent for "storytelling" with data.
  • A solutions oriented mindset that thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable "startup" environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 30% time
