Project Architect – Industrial & Commercial Facilities

Fort Worth, TX | Full-Time | $90,000–$130,000 Base

A national architecture and design firm is seeking a Project Architect to support the continued growth of its Fort Worth office. Project emphasis includes retail, supply chain, industrial warehouse, and commercial facility projects for clients throughout the United States. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative, technically sophisticated solutions that consistently meet project schedules, budgets, and client expectations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong BIM and AutoCAD capabilities and extensive experience producing construction documents for structural steel-framed, tilt-wall concrete, insulated metal panel (IMP), and commercial masonry facilities. Experience supporting warehouse, distribution, packaging, freezer/cooler, and cross-dock environments is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior project staff to develop solutions that meet project and program requirements.
  • Research and implement zoning ordinances, site planning requirements, and applicable building codes.
  • Prepare architectural drawings, BIM models, specifications, and technical details for project documentation.
  • Coordinate architectural designs with structural, mechanical, and electrical building systems.
  • Integrate tenant improvement packages with core and shell building documentation.
  • Participate in technical discussions with contractors, consultants, clients, and internal project teams.
  • Submit permit packages to jurisdictional authorities and address review comments, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Monitor project progress, assist with budget and schedule adherence, and conduct construction observations to verify compliance with contract documents.
  • Travel periodically to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Registered Architect license required; LEED AP and NCARB certifications preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong background in advanced construction detailing, construction specifications, and building code compliance.
  • Experience designing industrial warehouse and distribution facilities, including IMP wall systems, freezer/cooler spaces, cross-dock operations, and packaging-related facility integrations preferred.
  • Familiarity with pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) is a plus.
  • Intermediate hand-sketching abilities preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of architectural experience within a professional design firm, with 10+ years of hands-on production experience strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $90,000 - $130,000 base salary.
  • Hybrid onsite/remote work schedule based in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k), company-paid life insurance, medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, HSA/HRA options, wellness discounts, volunteer opportunities, mentorship programs, and ongoing professional development initiatives.
