Position: Drywall Estimator / Assistant Project Manager (APM)

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Drywall Estimator / APM to join our growing team. This hybrid role combines preconstruction estimating responsibilities with project management support, offering the opportunity to be involved in both the bidding process and project execution.

This position is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career path toward becoming a Project Manager or Senior Estimator while contributing to Optiline's continued growth.


Responsibilities:

Estimating

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate bids for drywall, framing, insulation, and related scopes.

  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and bid documents.

  • Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and vendor quotes.

  • Collaborate with the Preconstruction Director and Estimating team to prepare competitive proposals.

Project Management Support

  • Assist Project Managers in reviewing contracts, budgets, and schedules.

  • Coordinate with field teams and subcontractors to ensure work is progressing according to plan.

  • Track project costs, RFIs, change orders, and submittals.

  • Maintain project documentation and reporting in alignment with Optiline standards.

  • Support project closeout, punch lists, and client communication as needed.


Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction (drywall/framing preferred).

  • Estimating experience and/or project coordination experience (field or office).

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, or similar) a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
