Job description

Reporting to the VP, Product & Underwriting, Asset Protection, the Director of Product is responsible for leading product development initiatives. In this role, you will oversee product development teams, manage their performance, and be accountable for their outcomes. Team resources and utilization will be aligned with organizational guidelines. You will devise strategies to enhance processes, collect key data such as sales metrics and customer feedback, and collaborate with various departments to develop new products and services. Your responsibilities include setting goals, establishing guidelines and timelines, and ensuring the successful execution of the product roadmap. Additionally, you will liaise with key external stakeholders, customers, and industry partners. As Director, you will also be responsible for implementing and updating policies and regulations that support the company's vision, mission, and overall goals.

The Director, Product Development role is based in Protective's Chesterfield, Missouri office and offers a hybrid work schedule. Remote work may be considered for candidates who do not reside within commuting distance of the office.

  • Build deep relationships and partnerships across the company and industry to gain alignment on strategy and execution
  • Define and drive the product roadmap and execution strategies based on insights, data, and business needs.
  • Build strong partnerships within the company, industry and our customers to align on strategy and execution.
  • Ensure all products comply with state and lender regulations.
  • Establish best practices to guide teams and promote continuous process improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to analyze business problems using internal and external data.
  • Identify or bring in subject matter experts to interpret data and offer actionable recommendations.
  • Advise business leaders with data-driven insights to address key business issues and opportunities.
  • Provide leadership with relevant data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage, coach, and develop employees, ensuring they understand their role in achieving the company's vision and goals.
  • Drive improvements in product performance, service standards, quality, and market deployment
  • Drives improvements in product metrics, service standards, quality results and measurements in deploying products into the market
Knowledge, Skills, Attributes:
  • Ability to build a deep understanding of other departments and functions throughout Product, Sales, Customer Support, Operations, and Finance
  • Experience analyzing processes and identifying opportunity for improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization and key outside parties

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in Product, Sales, Operations, and/or Data Analytics
  • Bachelor's degree in business or similar field
  • Experience with regulatory and compliance regulations
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with direct team management and cross-functional influence

Protective's targeted compensation for this position is $115,591k - $140,410k. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees. This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
