Job Description:

We are in search of a highly self-motivated Production Manager to join our team based in the Newport Beach, CA office.

Position Summary:

In this role, you will report or our CEO and will be responsible for Production and sampling across all Banks Journal product categories.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Manage the product creation process from design hand-off to final product delivery, with an emphasis on quality product development, timely completion and hitting target margins.

- Manage and organize the logistics for all production orders from Ex-Factory through to our warehouses in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Europe.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Design team to ensure product success
- Daily communication with vendors to ensure all samples are accurate and received on time.
- Negotiate costs with vendors to ensure margin requirements are met at style and
category level.
- Be the category expert โ€“ be knowledgeable of category status and manage all reporting for assigned categories.
- Oversee and manage the seasonal production calendars to ensure timely development and delivery of prototypes, samples and final production
- Review oversee and assist the design team with the completion of all techs checking for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
- Recommend enhancements, construction and material options to elevate our brand and/or improve financial targets
- Handle factory questions; aid in interpreting designs when needed
- Review all factory submits (lab dips, handlooms, knit downs, print strikes, etc.), proto-types and samples to ensure manufacturing execution in cooperation with design team
- Take the lead on Research and Development of new fabrics/construction techniques to support company initiatives of R&D and design team for assigned categories.
- Communicate comments and feedback to factories in detailed and organized manner to make required changes to prototypes and samples
- Organize and track all submits, promos and samples for future reference
- Maintain fabric and trim library in partnership with design team
- Closely monitor and manage development calendar including work in progress (WIP), product on order and goods in transit to ensure timely delivery
- Resolve material, production and transport issues affecting production timing
- Negotiate production costs based on design, merchandising and financial plans; maintain cost sheets
- Build and maintain seasonal master lines
- Build and maintain all seasonal barcodes
- Manage the seasonal care labels and all other packaging requirements

Job Requirements

- Candidate should have a minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ experience in production / product development
- Experience in menโ€™s and women's clothing
- Must have prior experience working with overseas suppliers
- Good communication skills
- Ability to complete presentations to small and large groups
- Advanced Adobe Suite skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word
- Previous product data entry in ERP systems (experience with Xoro Soft)
- Working knowledge of Design and production
- Must have extensive experience in product construction/fabric construction/wash and print techniques/component level cost management and calendar adherence management.
- Must be deadline driven and detail oriented.
- Must be able to multi task and work in fast paced environment.
- Must be proactive with a solution/result oriented attitude.
- Must have excellent communication and follow through skills.
- Must work well in a team environments.
