Overview:
Sentara Health is currently seeking a full-time remote - Referral Coordinator!
Position Location: This is a remote position, and you must be located near Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach or Hampton Roads area. You must be able to travel on-site for training, for connectivity issues, or as needed for meetings, etc.
Job responsibilities:
  • Provides a direct link between patients, primary care providers, specialty providers, and insurance companies.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure:
  • No specific certification or licensure requirements

Experience:
  • 1 year of Health Insurance Plans experience REQUIRED
  • Experience in a high-volume call center preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payers.
  • One year of experience with insurance verification/referral processing preferred.
  • Knowledge of EPIC preferred.
  • Proficient in use of computers and excellent organizational skills.
