Prepory is the premier college admissions counseling organization. Our innovative, holistic approach to college counseling is reshaping how students apply to college, find their "fit," and ultimately receive admission to their dream schools.
Through our college admissions practice, we guide high school students and graduate admissions applicants along their college admissions and application journey. We have worked with over 9,000 clients globally, and this would not be possible without our amazing college admissions coaches. We are looking for individuals who can serve as reliable, passionate, and informative guides for applicants who are embarking on their college admissions journey.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate regularly with applicants to identify their needs, goals, and expectations for their graduate school admissions journey.
  • Provide end-to-end counseling, including
    • Regular 60-minute advising sessions via Zoom with each of your applicants
    • Keeping track of deadlines for various applications and educational milestones
    • Assigning relevant tasks between sessions to maximize applicant success
    • Responding to applicant inquiries
  • Successfully and conscientiously manage a cohort of graduate school applicants
    • Typical cohorts are between 5 to 10 students at a given time
  • Support applicant progress by providing personalized advising tailored to each client's geographic location, financial needs, academic and extracurricular goals, and long-term trajectory.
  • Conduct research as needed to support your advising sessions, clarify inquiries, or present valuable information/resources to your applicants.
  • Lead applicants in the exploration, research, and discernment of a balanced college list that reflects their academic, professional and personal interests.
  • Be forward-thinking and strategic in the advice and guidance provided to your clients, ensuring that you are an expert and up-to-date on the admissions issues they are facing.
  • Mentor applicants through the writing process for statements of purpose, supplemental essays, résumés, etc. by helping them identify their personal narrative and providing meaningful and actionable feedback on their materials.
  • Provide interview preparation and support during the application process.
  • Participate in biweekly meetings with 6-8 other Prepory coaches conducted by your Lead Coach mentor.
  • Participate as an additional reader in our Committee Review.
  • Maintain detailed communication with the Program Director and Director of Client Success to provide ongoing updates on student progress

Qualifications of our Ideal Candidate
  • Former admissions experience at an accredited graduate school is strongly preferred, though we will also consider candidates with relevant experience in graduate application support
  • Graduated from or worked at a top-tier graduate school and/or a top 50 undergraduate institution
  • Comprehensive understanding of the U.S. and UK graduate application process, ideally for a variety of programs including master's and doctoral across many fields
  • Familiarity with trends in graduate education, graduate school rankings, and admissions priorities such as DEI, GPA/GRE balance, and experiential qualifications
  • Experience in an educational or academic support role, such as advising, teaching, research, counseling, or academic coaching
  • Ability to manage and mentor multiple applicants throughout a competitive admissions cycle, providing guidance tailored to each client's profile and goals
  • Availability during evenings and weekends, with flexibility to accommodate students in different time zones, including international applicants
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to track deadlines, document submissions, and evolving application materials
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, especially in reviewing and providing feedback on personal statements, optional essays, and résumés
  • Willingness to support students through the entire graduate school application cycle, including school list creation, essay review, and interview preparation

Compensation Range
$25.00/hr - $35.00/hr
