What is a part time admission reader?

Part Time Admission Readers are professionals hired by colleges and universities to review and evaluate student applications on a part-time basis, especially during peak admissions cycles. They assess academic records, essays, recommendation letters, and other application materials to help determine which applicants are a good fit for the institution. These readers often work remotely and must follow specific guidelines and rubrics set by the admissions office. The role is ideal for individuals with a background in education or experience in a related field, and it provides flexible, seasonal employment.

They may participate in regular calibration meetings to discuss evaluation criteria and align on standards. Readers also communicate feedback and flag applications for further review when necessary, contributing to a holistic review process. Collaboration is essential, especially during peak season, to manage workflow and maintain the integrity of admissions decisions.
