Job Summary

About the Role

We Aptive Resources are seeking a Medical Support Assistants to provide remote administrative support to VA medical facility operations.

Important Note:

This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in Etowah County, AL and be able to work the schedule required by the facilities we support.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $15.70/hr + $5.09/hr employer-paid Health & Wellness contribution (applied to benefits or 401k)
  • Full benefits package including PTO and sick leave
Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments in accordance with VA scheduling guidelines
  • Answer inbound calls and route patient inquiries to appropriate clinical staff
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
  • Enter and maintain accurate records in electronic health record systems
  • Coordinate with clinical teams to support patient flow and follow-up care
  • Perform other administrative duties as outlined in the contract Performance Work Statemen
Minimum Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must reside in Etowah County, AL (verified at hire)
  • Minimum 1 year of administrative/clerical experience in healthcare or related field
  • Ability to work variable shifts Monday-Friday (8am-5pm or 10am-6pm [facility time zone]) with schedule flexibility
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a private, HIPAA-compliant home workspace
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check [add citizenship/other clearance requirements per contract]
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
