Job description

Position: Accounting Specialist (Growth Path to Full-Charge Bookkeeper)

Location: 10160 SW Nimbus Ave, Tigard, OR 97223 (In-Person)

Schedule: Full-Time (32 hours/week to start)

Pay Rate: $25.00 / hour


About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Accounting Specialist to manage day-to-day financial operations across a multi-company portfolio. In this role, you will handle core functions, including AP/AR, reconciliations, reporting, and payroll, while ensuring financial accuracy and maintaining internal controls. This position is essential for keeping our records organized and supporting smooth operations, offering a clear growth path into a Full-Charge Bookkeeper role.


Key Responsibilities

Transactions & Reconciliations: Process and log accounts payable/receivable transactions; reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger entries across multiple companies.


Payroll Operations: Process routine payroll, handle employee updates, track withholdings, and ensure compliance with state and local regulations (including NetChex and OregonSaves).


Financial Closing & Audits: Assist with month- and year-end closing procedures; support internal/external audits by gathering and organizing required documentation.


Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain financial reports and spreadsheets; monitor and resolve discrepancies in invoices, payments, and account balances.


Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and systems to maintain accurate financial data, enforce compliance with company policies, and optimize department efficiency.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Work Experience: Minimum of 2 consecutive years of accounting or bookkeeping experience with a single employer (demonstrated job stability is required).
  • Core Software: Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (Pro).
  • Technical Environment: Comfortable working in a fully serverless, cloud-based environment using Google Sheets and Google Docs.
