Job description

We are looking for a dynamic candidate to join our CPA firm. The primary purpose of this role is to interface with potential clients as the first point of contact and present the firm in a competent, professional and caring manner. In addition, candidate will be tasked with client related services in support or the professional staff in the office.

This position is either part-time or full-time depending on the candidate and requires a friendly and engaging personality, exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal, excellent organizational abilities, high level of attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to take ownership over work assignments in a fast-paced and busy work environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Greet clients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Provide client services at the front desk
  • Answer telephone in a friendly & professional manner, route calls and take detailed messages
  • Schedule client appointments
  • Scan and route mail to appropriate person
  • Process monthly invoices for CPA review
  • Set up and maintain client files both physically and digitally
  • Data entry and administrative tasks such as scanning and filing
  • General office administration
  • Maintain stock of office supplies and office organization
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Provide support to tax professionals and accounting staff
  • Routine payroll processing (internally and for outside clients)
  • Ad-hoc projects as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Microsoft office 360 competency and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic income tax return knowledge
  • Ability to learn tools and software and execute on a designed workflow
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently when needed
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Strongly Desired

  • Previous tax preparation or previous experience in tax office or CPA firm
