Team you will be joining
The Measure Authoring and Development Integrated Environment (MADiE) is the flagship digital platform for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). It is the central engine used to design, test, and deploy the healthcare quality measures that define American care standards. A FHIR Measure Repository (FMR) is in early stages of development.
You'll be building the infrastructure that moves the U.S. healthcare system toward a fully digital quality enterprise, reducing provider burden and improving patient outcomes through better data.
As a QA Engineer, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, accessible, and scalable applications by embedding automation-first quality practices and integrating testing deeply within CI/CD pipelines. You will be embedded in Agile teams, implementing consistency in testing standards, automation frameworks, and quality metrics while partnering closely with engineering, product, UX and program leadership.
These are the types of things you'll be working on
Execute an automation-first QA strategy with Cypress as the primary test automation framework for: End-to-end UI testing , API testing, Performance validation, Accessibility compliance testing, Regression and smoke testing
Integrate Cypress test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Docker
Implement quality initiatives across multiple Scrum teams, focusing on defect prevention and release confidence
Perform manual testing activities including exploratory testing, regression validation, and UAT
Ensure applications meet Section 508 / WCAG accessibility requirements, leveraging Cypress-integrated tools such as Axe and Lighthouse
Act as quality advocate during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness
Communicate quality risks, trends, and release readiness clearly to stakeholders

$108,700 - $125,300 a year
