Job description

Who We Are
McMaster-Carr is a trusted e-commerce company that keeps industry moving. For 125 years, customers have counted on us to deliver the right parts quickly and accurately so they can fix problems, avoid downtime, and keep critical operations running. Our ability to do that comes from world-class execution - robust systems, disciplined processes, and people who take pride in getting the details right.
Our success is built on our people. At McMaster-Carr, teams work side by side to solve real problems, adapt as technology evolves, and continually improve how we operate. The work is fast-paced, essential, and meaningful. We invest in our people, value collaboration, and create careers where effort, curiosity, and accountability drive meaningful results for customers every day.
What You'll Do
We are looking for broadly skilled, resourceful, and talented people to join our team. People of all types have been successful at McMaster-Carr; from archaeologists to engineers, business students to thespians, we're interested in your ability to think and your drive to be challenged.
The individuals we hire will have the opportunity to learn about McMaster-Carr's operations with the potential to contribute to multiple areas of the company over time. These vital team members must be able to adapt to challenging new tasks and environments quickly. Successfully contributing in one area of the business could lead to new roles and responsibilities in another.
This career area offers front-line involvement with fast-paced day-to-day McMaster-Carr operations.
Responsibilities could include:
  • Applying customer payments accurately to the correct invoices and resolving discrepancies through detailed research and pattern recognition
  • Investigating and reconciling payment exceptions, such as missing tax charges or unapplied funds, using established procedures and sound judgment
  • Delivering first-touch resolution on the majority of cases while identifying opportunities to move into more complex credit card or resolutions work over time

A bachelor's degree is required for this position.
Strong candidates should be able to produce high-quality work at a fast pace, while thinking creatively and critically to meet new challenges.
Your Future
Our work environment is fast-paced and collegial, offering the stability of a century-old market leader with the excitement of a company that is still growing and innovating. At McMaster-Carr, we offer an environment where employees face challenging opportunities, grow professionally, and have a life outside of work. We have few private offices, no reserved parking, and encourage the free exchange of ideas across all areas of our organization. Advancement is directed not by your undergraduate major or tenure with the company, but rather by your performance.
Cash Compensation
Cash compensation generally ranges from $106,000 - $119,000, which includes base salary and profit sharing based on company profitability. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. You will also be eligible for Cash Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (DPS) contributions.
Benefits
We are committed to comprehensive benefits to support employees and their dependents, such as:
  • Zero-dollar premiums for medical, dental, pharmacy, and vision plans for employees, spouses, and dependents
  • 100% tuition reimbursement for employees
  • First-time home buyer assistance
  • College assistance for your dependents
  • Paid time off to cover vacation and personal time

Equal Opportunity Employer
We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and dedicated to providing employees a workplace with reasonable accommodations and free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. At McMaster-Carr, we do not make employment decisions based on age, ethnicity, citizenship status, military status, gender identity and expression, race, religion, disability status, marital status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected group.
This position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship by McMaster-Carr.
Data We Collect
We may collect professional, education and employment-related data, and any assessments made throughout the recruiting process, to evaluate candidacy for employment. To communicate with job applicants, we may collect applicant names, contact information, and other personal identifiers, including those outlined in the California customer records statute.
