Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $53,944- $71,475.8. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Production? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our Fabrication function. As a Manufacturing Technologist, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Manufacturing Technologist - Wiring Center Support is responsible for operating and supporting automated wire processing equipment, including crimping centers, automated wiring centers, and wire printing systems, while ensuring jobs are prepared, released, and executed accurately through digital machine-readable workflows. This role combines hands-on machine operation, digital job setup, wire list creation and optimization, inventory transactions, development of machine running parameter databases, and continuous improvement collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and Wiring/Assembly teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Digital Job Setup and Machine Data Preparation. Create, maintain, and update wire list jobs so they can be read automatically/ digitally by the machine with minimal manual intervention.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the wire and terminal processing parameter database for all supported crimping centers and automated wiring centers.
  • Support startup, first-piece validation, and in-process checks for automated wire processing jobs.
  • Operate and support automated wire processing equipment, including crimping centers, automated wiring centers, and wire marking/printing systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Production Supervisors, and Wiring Team members to improve wire processing flow and performance.
  • Proactively suggest optimization ideas to engineering related to wire lengths, terminal selections, routing logic, bundle organization, print format, and automation compatibility.
  • Execute required inventory transactions in Oracle for wire, terminals, labels, printer ink, consumables, and finished wire kits/bundles.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of work instructions, setup procedures, and visual aids for the wiring center.
  • Support various projects to improve safety, quality, & delivery as required.

What you'll Need To Succeed:
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wire lists, harness drawings, and panel layouts.
  • Experience with wire processing (cutting, stripping, crimping) and familiarity with automated wire-processing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of wiring practices: routing, bundling, labeling, grounding, and termination standards.
  • Experience with low-voltage control systems (24 VDC, 120 VAC) and awareness of high-voltage switchgear environments.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeter, continuity tester, crimp-pull tester).
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70/70E, UL 508A, and general industrial electrical safety.

Preferred:
  • Experience in switchgear, industrial control panel manufacturing, or wire-harness production.
  • Familiarity with PLC I/O wiring, interlocking circuits, and control-system architectures.
  • Experience creating or improving manufacturing documentation and build standards.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies.
