Manager, Remarketing Financial Operations

Position Summary:

The Remarketing Financial Operations Manager leads the team and processes responsible for the financial integrity of remarketing operations, including vehicle sale reconciliations, inventory accounting, payment settlements, reporting, and operational controls. This role provides strategic oversight of financial operations, ensures compliance with internal controls and audit requirements, and partners across the organization to drive process improvements, automation, and operational excellence. The Manager is accountable for developing team capability, mitigating financial risk, and delivering accurate, timely, and auditable results that support organizational performance and growth.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead financial operations and reconciliation activities across remarketing transactions, ensuring accurate accounting and settlement of vehicle sale proceeds, payment activity, inventory movements, and related financial transactions
  • Manage and develop a team responsible for financial operations, reconciliations, reporting, and exception management, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Establish and maintain governance over end-to-end payment flows, inventory accounting, and sales reconciliations, ensuring financial integrity across customer, dealer, auction, OEM, and financing accounts while proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Own the development and oversight of reporting, key performance indicators, and financial controls, providing visibility into inventory, incentive, and payment activity while ensuring accurate, auditable financial outcomes
  • Identify emerging trends, operational risks, and control gaps through data analysis and reporting, driving corrective actions and establishing sustainable solutions to mitigate financial and operational risk
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and OEM stakeholders to align business objectives, resolve complex issues, and ensure effective execution of remarketing financial processes
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of operational controls, policies, and procedures to strengthen compliance, improve data integrity, and support audit readiness
  • Drive process optimization and automation initiatives by leveraging analytics, technology, and industry best practices to improve scalability, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Provide leadership and oversight for cross-functional initiatives, system implementations, and strategic projects that impact remarketing financial operations and inventory management
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor on remarketing financial operations, influencing departmental strategy and supporting the achievement of enterprise financial, operational, and customer experience objectives
Qualifications &Competencies Required Experience:
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in high-volume, multi-party financial transactions involving reconciliation, analysis, or auditing
  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks
  • Experience with vehicles sales, customer account servicing, or inventory accounting
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tableau)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Additional:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. Overtime required – as required on an as needed basis
  • Travel 0 -10% as required on an as needed basis
Qualifications Preferred:
  • Prior experience with a high-volume, automotive captive
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
