Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The GRB Commercial Relationship Manager Progression Program is designed to prepare individuals to become successful Commercial Relationship Managers. As a Commercial RM Trainee, participants will undergo a combination of e-learning, classroom, and hands-on learning experiences with a primary focus on credit analysis for the first 12 to 24 months. Participants will learn about GRB’s credit culture and the commercial loan underwriting process, eventually developing sales and relationship management skills as they progress through the program. Trainees will be responsible for assisting Commercial Relationship Managers in servicing their commercial loan portfolios; obtain, analyze and evaluate financial and operating information in undertaking the preparation of credit analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze financial statements of all levels of quality to develop an initial assessment to identify strengths and weaknesses, as it pertains to a borrower’s historical operating performance.
  • At the direction of the Commercial Team Leader, conduct customer-facing site visits and financial informational interviews.
  • Completing and underwriting assigned annual reviews and new credit requests.
  • Utilize the nCino platform and gain familiarity with all of the functions, including the financial spreading software.
  • Working with RMs, develop credit analyses and presentations to process renewals, extensions and new credit requests. This includes, but is not limited to, collecting information on affiliated debt and relationships; preparation of the credit presentation, including cash flow and collateral analysis; and analyzing financial data and trends of borrowing entities in assessing overall credit risk.
  • Review loan documentation file prior to presenting loan requests to appropriate loan committee to insure that collateral meets approval requirements. Prepare written commercial loan analysis in a concise but complete format identifying major trends, issues and risks for presentation to loan committee.
  • Review loan policy manual to ensure that loans presented to loan committee meet bank policy requirements. Note any policy exceptions in the credit presentation.
  • Active participation in demonstrating the behaviors outlined in the GRB Experience.
  • Meet expectations in performance, productivity and quality standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and commensurate experience.

  • Previous credit analysis and/or experience in commercial banking strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in public accounting a plus.
