Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health (NOAH) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that offers comprehensive, integrated, and affordable healthcare services to people in need. Job Summary:

The Registration/Scheduler provides high quality customer service and serves as the main point of contact for the call center.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Interviews patients to complete all necessary documents, such as insurance forms. Compiles and records medical charts, reports, and correspondence using a computer and various software programs. Transmits correspondence and medical records by mail, email, or fax.

  • Schedules and confirms health center appointments.

  • Tracks no-shows, documents in appropriate system and communicates with provider and patient, if applicable.

  • Answers communication from call center or other team members and direct calls to appropriate staff.

  • Interacts with patients via telephone, email, or in person to provide support and information on NOAH services.

  • Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve patient problems and concerns.

  • Promotes and provides access to care. Collaborates with community resource department to assist in collecting patient documents, and facilitates patient transportation to and from their appointment.

  • Ensures patient demographics and UDS requirements are up to date. 

  • Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 

  • Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, older, or distraught patients.

  • Knowledge of insurance plans and requirements.

  • Knowledge of NOAH specialties and other services offered.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Knowledge of compliance requirements affecting role, including HIPAA/Privacy Practices.

  • Exceptional communication skills.

  • Basic office skills such as filing and data entry; type a minimum of 45 words per minute.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Proficient with computers; Experience with word processing and computer databases required.

  • Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgement.

  • Ability to speak English and Spanish required.

Education and Experience:

Required: 

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred: 

  • 1+ years of healthcare related scheduling, registration, or relevant experience.

Other Requirements:

  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing.

  • Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
