Job description
Location & work modality: United States, Texas - Houston (preferred) or Austin - hybrid, with regular presence in the Houston officeÂ
Start:Â ASAPÂ
Type of Contract:Â Full Time / PermanentÂ
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel required across North America, including regular travel to Houston (Submer office) and the West Coast (clients, events)Â
Reporting line: This is a group-level role reporting directly to the Global Marketing Director, Submer Group. You will be part of the global marketing team rather than reporting into a US country manager or a local business.Â
Working pattern: Time flexibility is a genuine requirement. You will work across European time zones to keep in-sync with the global marketing team, and the role carries the flexibility expectations that come with a fast-moving, group-level scale-up remit.Â
About SubmerÂ
Submer designs and delivers end-to-end AI datacenter infrastructure built on a strong legacy in industry-leading liquid cooling.Â
We help organizations scale AI beyond the limits of traditional data centers by enabling higher density, greater efficiency and lower environmental impact - accelerating time-to-AI from first deployment to full production.Â
What impact you will haveÂ
We are seeking a Regional Marketing Manager to own marketing strategy and execution across North America - taking central marketing strategy / objectives and deploying them locally. Â
You'll own North America marketing for the Submer Group and the companies within it that cover the full AI infrastructure stack, working at the cutting edge of one of the most dynamic industries in tech - and helping us build that future the responsible way, driven by a strong green agenda at the heart of how we grow.Â
You will play a key role in shaping how the North America region builds and powers its digital future. By developing and executing regional marketing strategy, strengthening partner relationships, and driving brand visibility, you'll help Submer become North America's trusted leader in sustainable digital infrastructure.Â
You will be our first full-mix marketing hire in North America, with a remit spanning multiple companies across the group. That breadth is unusual: full-stack coverage of the AI infrastructure landscape gives you a vantage point on the industry that few marketing roles offer, alongside direct exposure to the executives shaping it.Â
Submer is in the middle of a significant transformation from a liquid cooling specialist into a full-stack AI infrastructure group. This is a chance to help shape a business as it is being built rather than maintain something already set in stone - and to grow the region's marketing function, and potentially a team, around you.Â
Role overviewÂ
You will help build the global marketing strategy and own the adoption and execution of it for the North American region - adapting global campaigns and messaging to the region's market dynamics.Â
Equally important, you will operate as part of the group's global marketing team. Some of your work will be global - brand, content and campaign programs delivered with colleagues in Europe - and some will involve tailoring that same work to the North America market. You will also be the on-the-ground marketing partner for the group companies and senior leaders operating from the US.Â
This is a foundation-building role. There is no established marketing function in the region and no playbook waiting for you: expect to define what good looks like, build regional marketing processes close to from scratch, wear several hats at once, and be comfortable with autonomy, leading from the front and frequent change synonymous with tech companies as the market and demands shift.Â
You will have proven experience driving B2B marketing strategy across North America, including customer engagement, partner collaboration, ABM, and multichannel campaigns. Skilled in partnering with commercial and technical colleagues to grow market presence, you combine technical credibility with strategic marketing acumen and genuinely hands-on execution in technology-driven businesses. You proactively monitor market dynamics, ensuring marketing strategies are aligned with regional priorities and emerging trends.Â
What you'll do
1. Regional Strategy & Budget
- Develop the North America regional marketing plan, aligned to global strategies and initiativesÂ
- Allocate budget across channelsÂ
2. Marketing Program Execution
- Develop and implement regional marketing campaigns and tailor content to the North America market, across both digital and in-person channelsÂ
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Submer's participation in industry events, roundtables, and forums, and represent Submer at key industry and government initiativesÂ
- Own event delivery end to end - logistics, messaging, on-site execution and follow-up - sometimes single-handedly, and always willing to be at the sharp end on the dayÂ
- Support senior leadership on speaking slots, briefings and executive visibility at regional events, including at short noticeÂ
- Track, measure, and report on the effectiveness of regional marketing initiativesÂ
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work as an integrated member of the group marketing execution team, contributing to global brand, content and campaign work as well as adapting corporate campaigns to regional and partner needsÂ
- Act as the marketing partner for US-based group company leadership and commercial teamsÂ
- Embed marketing into the day-to-day conversation across the group companies operating from the US, so that marketing is brought in early rather than called in lateÂ
- Provide regional insights and feedback to inform global marketing strategyÂ
4. Market & Industry Intelligence
- Monitor industry trends, government-led funding programs (e.g. AI and digital transformation initiatives), and regulatory developments across the regionÂ
- Anticipate market shifts and advise internal stakeholders on opportunities for Submer to align with national and regional prioritiesÂ
- Leverage insights to shape campaign strategy, event participation, partner strategies, and localized marketing contentÂ
What you'll needÂ
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration/Management, Communications, Public Relations or related fields, if paired with relevant marketing experienceÂ
- Or equivalent experience: relevant hands-on experience in regional marketing, field marketing, partner marketing, communications or events management may substitute for a formal degreeÂ
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in B2B marketing - regional or field marketing, partner marketing, event management, and/or communications and PR. We are open to this being a step up into your first senior regional role if you bring the right breadth and attitudeÂ
- Strong understanding of B2B marketing in technology-driven sectors, including campaign strategy and budget management. A background in AI infrastructure, data centers, IT and power infrastructure, or enterprise software is ideal - what matters is credibility with technical subject matter and technical audiences from day oneÂ
- Direct, day-to-day exposure to C-level stakeholders, with the presence to manage senior personalities and push back constructively when neededÂ
- Demonstrable experience delivering high-quality events, including the hands-on execution and on-the-ground elements rather than oversight aloneÂ
- Strong writing and analytical skills - able to assess a market, form a view and argue it, not only execute campaignsÂ
- Evidence of having driven a project across an organization from beginning to end, largely under your own steamÂ
- A scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset and genuine comfort with change and ambiguity. Large organization experience is welcome, provided you have operated entrepreneurially within itÂ
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently and set your own agenda, with strong organizational and project management skillsÂ
- Flexibility to travel frequently across North America, and to work an early schedule that overlaps with European colleaguesÂ
- Authorization to work in the United StatesÂ
What we offerÂ
- Attractive compensation package reflecting your expertise and experience.Â
- Medical Insurance Plan.Â
- 401k Employee volunteer contribution Plan.Â
- A great work environment characterized by friendliness, international diversity, flexibility, and a hybrid-friendly approach.Â
- Youll be part of a fast-growing scale-up with a mission to make a positive impact, offering an exciting career evolution.Â
- Real scope to grow: as the region scales, this role has a clear path towards building and leading a team.Â
Our job titles may span more than one job level. The actual base pay is dependent on a number of factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.Â
Our Inclusive ResponsibilityÂ
Submer is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected category under applicable law.Â
