Job description

We create possibilities that move life and commerce forward

Welcome to Manhattan. Every day, our supply chain commerce technology connects two billion people to 20 billion consumer choices. In the warehouse, on the road and in the store, we make what was once impossible, possible. If you want to tackle complex problems and redefine markets, you've come to the right place.

Overview

Manhattan's most important moments happen live: on stages, in boardrooms, and on tradeshow floors around the world. As Sr. Manager, Strategic Events, you are the architect of those moments. You will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of Manhattan's highest-visibility events: flagship customer conferences, major tradeshows, executive experiences, and marquee field programs. This is a role for someone who thinks big, executes flawlessly, and understands that every event is an opportunity to deepen relationships, build pipeline, and reinforce what Manhattan stands for in the market.

A Day in the Life

  • Own strategy, planning, and end-to-end execution for Manhattan's most critical events, including large-scale customer and user conferences, major industry tradeshows (e.g., NRF, Gartner, MODEX), executive VIP programs, and strategic field events.
  • Drive event strategy that aligns with business priorities, defining event objectives, audience strategies, content themes, and success metrics in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Executive leadership.
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics including venue sourcing and contracting, vendor management, budget oversight, AV and production, travel coordination, and on-site execution.
  • Partner closely with Product Marketing, Brand, and Communications to ensure event narratives, keynote themes, and customer storytelling are strategically aligned and high-impact.
  • Lead pre- and post-event planning across stakeholder alignment, run-of-show development, speaker and content management, and ROI reporting.
  • Manage agency partners, production vendors, and freelance support to deliver world-class event experiences on time and on budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and speakers to drive executive recruitment and participation, partnering closely with the Sr. Event Manager, Demand & Registration, who owns audience strategy and the registration funnel.
  • Oversee field and regional event programs, ensuring consistent brand standards and strategic impact across geographies.
  • Evaluate event performance against pipeline influence, brand awareness, and engagement metrics, and continuously raise the bar.
  • Manage virtual and hybrid event productions, ensuring digital attendee experiences are as compelling as in-person ones.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of event management experience, with a strong track record of owning and delivering large-scale, high-stakes events in B2B or enterprise technology environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise across a full spectrum of event types: tradeshows, customer conferences, executive/VIP programs, field events, and virtual/hybrid formats.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, able to connect event design to business outcomes and build a compelling case for investment.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills; able to run multiple complex events simultaneously without dropping the ball.
  • Proven vendor and agency management experience, including contract negotiation, creative direction, and budget accountability.
  • Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills, comfortable managing up, collaborating cross-functionally, and representing Manhattan externally with key stakeholders.
  • Experience working in or alongside supply chain, retail, omnichannel commerce, or enterprise software industries preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for key events throughout the year.

Why Join Manhattan?
