The Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for advanced diagnostics, major component rebuilds, and complex electrical troubleshooting on transport refrigeration units andย Hino and Isuzu trucks. This role may lead projects and provide technical guidance to mechanics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics on diesel engines and refrigeration systems.
  • Rebuild engines, transmissions, and major refrigeration components.
  • Oversee and perform DOT annual inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with federal environmental regulations (EPA refrigerant standards).
  • Coordinate with parts/vendors to ensure repair efficiency.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in shop and field environments.
  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and shop machinery.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of diesel and transport refrigeration experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Hino and Isuzu systems preferred.
  • EPA certification required (if handling refrigerants).
  • ASE certifications preferred.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license required; CDL preferred.
