Description

JOB TITLE: Journeyman FOIA Redaction Analyst
LOCATION: McLean, Virginia
CLEARANCE: Top Secret / SCI with Polygraph
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or 11+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
JOB DESCRIPTION:
 Review and redact personally identifiable information (PII), confidential data, and classified information from sensitive documents in accordance with Executive Order 13526, the Privacy Act of 1974, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
 Conduct line-by-line review of documents and cite specific exemption authority and justification for each redaction.
 Prepare files for release to approved parties by ensuring all redactions are accurate, properly justified, and compliant with policy.
 Organize, track, and maintain case files requiring redaction within the IC customer.
 Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all redaction activities.
 Provide inputs to compliance reports and metrics as directed by the Government.
 Safeguard individual privacy by ensuring information about an individual is not accessed or disclosed without that individual's knowledge and consent, consistent with the Privacy Act.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 Demonstrated experience reviewing and redacting sensitive information from U.S. Government reports or records.
 Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro or comparable redaction software.
 Strong attention to detail and ability to articulate and document redaction justifications on a line-by-line basis.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 Familiarity with FOIA, Privacy Act, and classification review workflows.
 Paralegal training or records/information management background.
 Experience supporting IC or DoD customers in a redaction or disclosure review role.
 Experience supporting high-level government officials on projects with high visibility.
