Job description

What we do and why we do it

As the leading end-to-end investment platform for single-family rental homes (SFR), our mission is to reinvent the rental housing ecosystem for the benefit of all. We successfully merge our passion for helping investors build wealth through real estate with cutting edge technology that transforms the way they do it.

How it's going (and growing)

With a talented team of 750+ Roofsters, our collaborative, can-do culture is what fuels our growth. In 2022, we closed on our Series E, raising $240 million, and have offices in the Bay Area and New York City. Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Stessa (financial and asset management software), RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors). In 2025, Roofstock took an ownership stake in Casago (short-term rental management services), expanding our platform to support both long-term and

About the Role

Roofstock is looking for a Recruiter to own full-cycle recruiting across our Operations org, from high-volume, entry-level field roles (maintenance techs, plumbers, other trades) to Property Managers and other mid-level operations roles that support the business.

You'll run high-volume trades pipelines and more consultative mid-level searches side by side, act as a strategic partner to hiring managers, and drive process improvements with minimal coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for both high-volume field/trades roles and mid-level operations positions, dynamically adjusting your approach and pace to match specific role needs.
  • Independently manage a complex requisition load, prioritizing across roles of varying urgency, complexity, and volume.
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and drive solutions proactively.
  • Advise hiring teams with market intelligence including compensation benchmarking, labor availability, and competitive dynamics.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers: lead structured intake, challenge unrealistic requirements, and influence critical decisions regarding role scope, leveling, and process.
  • Coach hiring managers and interviewers on effective, consistent evaluation techniques to ensure high-quality hires.
  • Establish yourself as a subject-matter expert on field, trades, and operations talent markets.
  • Exercise sound judgment to proactively flag risks and escalate issues to leadership before they become roadblocks.
  • Contribute to broader recruiting team initiatives and projects beyond your own requisition load.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a proven ability to balance high-volume, entry-level hiring alongside specialized, mid-level searches.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume requisition load effectively while maintaining quality and candidate experience.
  • Strategic mindset: track record of driving process and efficiency improvements rather than just maintaining the status quo.
  • Strong consultative skills: comfortable advising hiring managers, challenging assumptions, and influencing decision-making.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited day-to-day direction.
  • Proficiency with modern ATS platforms (Greenhouse preferred) and the ability to use recruiting metrics to identify trends and inform decisions.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools to accelerate sourcing, drafting, and market research, with a track record of finding creative ways to apply new technology to make recruiting more efficient.

Nice to Have

  • Experience within the Single-Family Rental (SFR), proptech, or property management sectors is highly preferred
  • Experience scaling recruitment processes within a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Background in building and managing high-volume, multi-geography sourcing strategies.
