Our Story:

In 1955, two Georgia neighbors opened up a restaurant that would change the world. That first restaurant opened the door to create the Waffle House brand that you see today. As this movement began to expand, new restaurants were built in Georgia as well as neighboring states, and the “Yellow Sign” soon became a familiar landmark along city streets and interstate highways across the country. Today, the Waffle House system is more than 1,900 locations in 25 states. All open 24-hours a day, seven days a week.


JOB SUMMARY


  • Recruiting Directors are the Brand Ambassadors for Waffle House in their assigned markets.
  • The Recruiting Director (RD) provides support in the hiring and recruitment of Management Candidates.
  • The Recruiting Director actively develops business relationships and networks throughout the business community in their assigned market.
  • Utilize approved online recruiting platforms to source management candidates.
  • Specific work hours will be determined by the needs of the assigned market that the Recruiting Director supports. Work locations include Waffle House restaurants, local community businesses, organizations, retail establishments, schools, colleges, etc.
  • Generally, the Recruiting Director will work most of the time on Monday – Friday and occasionally on weekends. The Recruiting Director works all holidays in support of the people initiative in their market.
  • The Recruiting Director will report to a Region Manager, Area Vice President or Senior Vice President with accountability to the VP of Recruiting and Development at the corporate office.
  • A Recruiting Director may have a moderate travel schedule with occasional overnight travel required.

Recruitment/Hiring:

  • Build synergistic relationships in the community that provide win/win scenarios.
  • Develop business relationships and networking opportunities with an appropriate number of community contacts.
  • Utilize appropriate online recruiting platforms to build an effective company presence and recruit qualified Operations Management candidates.
  • Seeks to find win/win, mutually beneficial relationships with Community Partners.
  • Ability to influence others without having formal authority and get others’ buy-in to a desired outcome.
  • Ability to meet or exceed expectations through goal setting and action plans.
  • Ability to effectively recruit, interview (as needed), and influence the hiring decision to select the best candidates determined by competencies, skills, and cultural fit within the organization.
  • Meet recruiting/hiring expectations while functioning within the current company systems.
  • Leading Management recruiting initiatives in assigned area.
  • Develop and execute recruitment programs that promote career opportunities and inclusion at Waffle House restaurants.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies that achieve required staffing levels.
  • Coach and develop the Operations Team in recruiting and the Hiring Process.
  • Build diverse relationships in the community to generate applicant flow.
  • Provide information on company operations and job opportunities to potential applicants.
  • Analyze candidate information provided by the Recruiting Coordinator and conduct personal interviews utilizing STAR Behavioral Interviewing techniques as needed.
  • Coordinate all candidate screening through the assigned Recruiting Coordinator.
  • Make recommendations regarding the suitability of applicants for employment.
  • Complete new hire packages on all management applicants following the final hiring decision.
  • Maintain records on recruitment efforts as required.


REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS


Skills/Education:

  • Successful recruiting for management positions
  • Extremely high internal self-motivation
  • Excellent self-management and delegating to others
  • Time management, organizing and prioritizing
  • Effective interviewing techniques and outcomes utilizing approved company standards
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of major software programs, internet and e-mail
  • Recruiting or outside sales experience preferred
  • 4-year College Degree preferred
  • Driver’s License and insurance
  • Ability to pass the current Waffle House management background check and drug test
