Job description

The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Recreation Center and pool facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment for all guests. This role leads and supports recreation attendants, pool attendants, and lifeguards while maintaining high service standards and compliance with all safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Recreation Center and pool areas
  • Ensure all facilities are clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures for both areas
Staff Supervision
  • Lead, coach, and support recreation staff including attendants and lifeguards
  • Create daily assignments and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
  • Provide ongoing training and guidance to team members
  • Address performance concerns and escalate to management when necessary
Guest Experience
  • Provide exceptional guest service and create a welcoming environment
  • Address guest questions, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner
  • Ensure all team members are delivering consistent, high-quality service
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all pool and recreation facility rules and policies
  • Ensure lifeguards are attentive and adhering to safety protocols
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents following established procedures
  • Complete and submit incident reports as required
  • Maintain compliance with local health and safety regulations
Activities & Programming
  • Assist in executing recreational activities and events
  • Ensure activities are set up on time and run smoothly
Facility & Equipment Management
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities
  • Report maintenance issues promptly to management
  • Ensure proper use and storage of all equipment
Communication & Reporting
  • Maintain clear communication with management and other departments
  • Complete daily logs and operational reports
Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in recreation, hospitality, or aquatic environments preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively
  • CPR/AED certification not required but willingness to obtain would be great
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50lbs)
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Schedule Requirements
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts
  • Seasonal availability required during peak resort operations
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Indoor Recreation Center and outdoor pool settings
  • Frequent interaction with guests of all ages
