Job description

Salary:

Under general direction, responsible for the planning, organizing and supervision of the recreation center and staff, including golf course management, fitness, pool, recreational and community events. This position will report to the Recreation Director.

  • Support Director in supervision of Recreation Center staff
  • Program, market, and host recreation programs
  • Plan and schedule meetings, develop agendas and coordinate staff training
  • Maintain availability and visibility to staff
  • Develop, evaluate, and update recreation, course and administrative policies and procedures
  • Coordinate, manage, track, and evaluate recreation programs to ensure that they are cost effective and meet the needs of the community
  • Oversee division promotional and marketing strategies to promote recreation participation
  • Perform public relations duties and respond to inquiries and complaints
  • Maintain confidential information and records pertaining to members, participants, and staff
  • Exercise good judgement and provide excellent customer service to the members
  • Perform facility and equipment maintenance processes
  • Maintain general facility appearances
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and nine (9) years of relevant experience, OR
  • Bachelors degree and five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Current CPR for the Professional, AED, First Aid, or ability to obtain within the first ninety (90) days of employment
  • Working knowledge of recreation programs and their management
  • Working knowledge of golf course and recreation center management
  • Strong customer service, listening and problem solving skills
  • Supervisory/management skills and competency in management, administration, promotion, and program development
  • Experience in building relationships with families and health seekers of all ages and working effectively with people
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of budget preparation, monitory, and administration
  • Competency in use of MS Office software and database software
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions, and to respond to safety and emergency situations

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see
  • Occasionally may be required to life moderately heavy objects (up to 20 pounds) during the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required
