Job description

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A BEYOND THE BELL YMCA (AFTERSCHOOL) ENRICHMENT LEADER AT DOS RIOS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (MUST BE STAFF AT DOS RIOS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL):

This position will serve as the Enrichment Leader for 21st Century Community Learning Center for Valley of the Sun YMCA and will provide program direction, management and coordination of all aspects of the After-School Program administered by the Valley of the Sun YMCA at Edison School of Innovation School. This position may support other Afterschool Programs in this capacity as programming expands and/or school partnerships change. The 21st Century After-School Program provides comprehensive youth development opportunities for youth in grades K-8 from Dos Rios Elementary School. The After-School Enrichment Leader will provide supervision, coordination and leadership to ensure the After-School Programs meet health, safety and licensing standards and offer quality youth development educational experiences using established 21st Century Community Learning Center curriculum and activities. This position will work closely with the Team Leader and Association Program staff to deliver a highly effective Valley of the Sun Afterschool Program which addresses the needs of local youth while employing the most current educational resources available.

  • Supervises a group of youth ensuring positive engagement and child safety.
  • Preserves quality condition of all supplies, equipment, materials, and cleanliness of site.
  • Develops positive relationships with children and parents through daily communication and interaction.
  • Works closely with site director to plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, following the established program schedule.
  • Assists site director in maintaining all pertinent site records, files, and other required administrative procedures, ensuring their licensed childcare files and trainings are up to date and accurate.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A BEYOND THE BELL (AFTERSCHOOL) ENRICHMENT LEADERS AT DOS RIOS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Current state approved first-aid certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Fingerprint and negative TB clearance.
  • Documentation of high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive a minibus to transport children.
