About This RoleRCOC's Hands of Opportunity Community Guidance Program helps people with disabilities find employment and training opportunities in Racine and Kenosha counties. The Community Guidance Program identifies and connects individuals with education, training, and employment paths. This role supports participants to reach their vocational potential in a competitive work setting.
What You'll Do- Supports staff in helping participants develop their vocational skills.
- Monitors participants' performance in various work sites, following program guidelines, to identify areas for additional training and to maintain solid work habits.
- Teachs participants how to maintain healthy boundaries related to employment readiness.
- Trains participants in soft/social skills, coping skills, employability, and connecting to community resources.
- Maintains and executes documentation and workflow using basic computer skills.
- Provides written documentation as needed, including reports and other required documentation to justify services.
- Maintains consistent and reliable attendance and is flexible in providing support to participants.
- Represents RCOC and contracted service funders in a professional manner and adheres to the RCOC mission.
- Has exceptional problem-solving skills.
RequirementsAbility and willingness to work in various weather conditions and access the community throughout the year by different means, including public transportation, walking, etc. Willingness to work with people with disabilities, including those with physical limitations.
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Two years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or in a related field is preferred, or two years of related education.
- Can independently and spontaneously travel to various locations.
- Has a valid Wisconsin Driver's License and good driving record.
- Drives agency vehicles as required.
- Passes a Caregiver Background Check.
- Passes a pre-employment drug screen.
