Position Description:
Redhorse Corporation is seeking an Assistant Team Leader to work on task with the U.S. Fleet Forces (USFF). The USFF is responsible for coordinating, establishing, and implementing integrated requirements and policies for manning, equipping, and training Atlantic and Pacific Fleet units, strike groups, and strike forces. This role will provide comprehensive operational and environmental support for Fleet training range complexes and operations while meeting OFRP requirements and adhering to governmental environment laws, acts, statutes, and policies.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Assist RCST leader with management and overall coordination of RCST operational, environmental, and information management support staff.
  • Interface with Atlantic Fleet TYCOMs, range scheduling authorities, USFF and PACFLT environmental and range staffs, range managers, and other service providers
  • Participate with region encroachment management teams for issues impacting fleet training or which can affect mission readiness.
  • Participate in oversight, development, review, and reporting of fleet environmental and range sustainment projects including Encroachment Action Plans (EAP) and range management plans.
  • Support data collection for range sustainment projects such as range management plans, environmental documentation, and marine mammal reporting.
  • Other duties as designated in support of environmental training operations.
Requirements for Experience, Skills, Education and Credentials include:
  • Former military commissioned officer or chief petty officer with minimum of twenty (20) years of relevant service. Operational aviation, surface, subsurface, or amphibious warfare experience is required.
  • Detailed understanding of major and unit level training exercises, fleet training requirements, and live and inert ordnance training requirements.
  • Experience in airspace management policy; oceanic and special use airspace; range management and instrumentation; large scale and integrated exercise scheduling, control, and reconstruction; contract training services; and data collection.
  • Staff experience in USN Fleet training, operational planning and exercise implementation highly desired (e.g., staffs at USFF or PACFLT Headquarters (HQ), numbered fleet, TYCOM, Carrier Strike Group, Navy region, Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility (FACSFAC) or similar).
  • Experience in encroachment, environmental and other range sustainment issues that can affect mission readiness.
  • Knowledge of primary environmental laws, regulations, statutes, and DoN and DoD policies applicable to USN training activities, (e.g., NEPA, ESA, MMPA, CZMA, EO 12114, MSFCMA).
  • Experience coordinating with other USN commands and services.
  • Experience in researching, preparing, and conducting technical lectures, briefs, and presentations.
  • BA/BS degree; engineering, physical science, environmental, or equivalent degree.
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
