By ensuring a safe, compliant, and welcoming store environment, the Store Manager balances business performance with people's development to drive engagement and overall store success.

Core Responsibilities
Exceptional Customer Experience:
  • Create and sustain a welcoming store environment by modeling customer connection, beverage quality, speed of service, accuracy, and care in every interaction.
  • Lead partners by example in delivering warm, personalized, and efficient service that reflects Starbucks standards and the customer experience expectations of the assigned location.
  • Coach partners to anticipate customer needs, support product recommendations, resolve concerns appropriately, and consistently create positive customer moments.
  • Promote an inclusive, respectful, and customer-focused store culture that strengthens partner engagement and customer loyalty.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Starbucks beverages, food, merchandise, promotions, and core product routines to support consistent customer education and service execution.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, property partners, and key stakeholders to support the overall guest experience and store reputation.

Store Performance & Profitability:
  • Drive store performance by connecting business priorities to daily routines, partner deployment, customer connection, product quality, sales growth, and profitability goals.
  • Set clear expectations for customer engagement, sampling, suggestive selling, product promotion, and upselling opportunities that support sales growth.
  • Review sales trends, labor, inventory, waste, and controllable expenses to identify opportunities and take timely action to improve store results.
  • Manage cash handling, shrink, waste, product availability, and other controllable costs to support financial accountability and profitability.
  • Use traffic patterns, business needs, product demand, and partner availability to guide scheduling, deployment, and daypart execution.
  • Communicate sales goals, promotional priorities, product launches, and business updates to partners to support consistent execution and accountability.

Operational Excellence:
  • Lead consistent execution of store routines, Starbucks standards, food safety, cash controls, inventory processes, cleanliness, and partner leadership practices to ensure the store operates efficiently and consistently.
  • Oversee opening, closing, handoff, station readiness, product quality, equipment use, cleanliness, and store environment standards throughout each daypart.
  • Hire, train, coach, develop, and hold partners accountable through clear expectations, regular feedback, performance management, and consistent communication.
  • Ensure accurate execution of inventory routines, including ordering, receiving, transfers, product rotation, waste tracking, stock levels, and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain compliance with Company policies, Starbucks operating standards, food safety requirements, cash-handling procedures, safety expectations, airport security protocols, and applicable credentialing requirements.
  • Partner with District/Regional leaders, cross-functional teams, and property stakeholders to resolve operational concerns, support business priorities, and drive consistent store execution.

Job Requirements
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Successful completion of required background screening, drug testing, TAM Card, and/or security clearance, where applicable.
  • Ability to maintain product knowledge and execute operational and merchandising standards.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, retail technology, Microsoft Office, and standard store equipment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a results-driven environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced retail environment or retail training.
  • Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to follow Company policies, cash-handling procedures, safety requirements, and airport security protocols.
  • Must meet and maintain all job-related credentialing, screening, certification and security requirements applicable to the assigned location.
  • Ability to accurately review product pricing, and transaction information and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to perform physical retail activities, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, handling merchandise, and lifting to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, consistent with operational needs.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy when processing transactions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced airport retail environment while managing multiple priorities.
