POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Range Manager is responsible for the overall performance and operating results for a designated growing range (i.e., South Dakota, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, or Missouri). The Range Manager always keeps Dan and Jerryโ€™s business interests in mind and makes decisions aligned to the companyโ€™s strategic and financial operating plans.

Safety is a top priority at Dan and Jerryโ€™s Greenhouses, and as a Range Manager you will take an active leadership role in promoting a safe working culture. We want all employees, customers, and guests to Arrive Safe, Be Safe and Leave Safe.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (comprehensive, but not limited to):

ยท Lead the range through full cycle of greenhouse operations, seeding to shipping.

ยท Responsible for team of 30+ employees.

ยท Collaboratively with CEO and management team, prepare an annual strategic plan ensuring alignment with overall company growth and financial objectives.

ยท Lead and manage your team, providing clarity in goals & expectations that produce quality results.

ยท Lead by example, whereas a culture of safety and operational excellence is visibly and measurably evident.

ยท Be intentional with employee training to drive improved operational efficiencies and range profitability.

ยท Drive strategic improvements that are aligned with company vision and financial objectives.

ยท Consistently deliver measurable results on strategic goals to enable top and bottom-line company growth.

ยท Evaluate performance of personnel in accordance with established procedures.

ยท Ensure that all work performed is of a manner and quality consistent with the policies of the company.

ยท Lead, develop, and motivate your team to promote a culture of high performance.

ยท Maintains a strict level of confidentiality concerning Dan and Jerryโ€™s strategic, operational, and financial positions.

ยท Perform all other duties as directed by the CEO.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

ยท High School diploma or GED.

ยท BS/BA degree in an agricultural related field, or minimum 4 years greenhouse leadership experience.

ยท Experience working in a production greenhouse environment of 10 acres or more.

ยท Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

ยท Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency using the Microsoft Suite of software products.

ยท Must be able to work with other Company Managers and Range Managers in unison to meet schedules.

ยท Demonstrated ability to make positive impact decisions, prioritize and meet or exceed deadlines.

ยท Demonstrated ownership for decisions and actions; facilitates accountability.

ยท Ability to effectively work autonomously, while always keeping the CEO informed of critical data.
