Description
Tharros has immediate opportunities for Range Technicians to play a crucial role in maintaining and operating a cyber range/simulated environment used to provide realistic cybersecurity training and testing. Position will be supporting the Air Combat Command's 67th Cyberspace Wing (67 CW), 346th Test Squadron (346TS) which plans, executes, and contributes as both an operational and participating test organization in a full array of operational tests of various cyber weapons in coordination with the 318 Range Squadron (318RANS) who provides instrumented cyber range services, through both physical hardware and virtual systems.
In this role, you will be responsible to plan, prepare, and execute test systems to evaluate results against specifications and requirements as well as analyze and report test results. Additionally, you will be responsible to plan, implement, and operate network services / systems, to include hardware and virtual environments. Responsibilities include:
Technical Operations:
  • System Administration: Manage and maintain the cyber range's hardware and software infrastructure, including servers, network devices, and security tools.
  • Network Configuration: Configure and troubleshoot multi-vendor network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls, to replicate real-world network environments.
  • Security Tool Deployment: Deploy and configure various security tools, like intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanners, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems, within the cyber range.
  • Scenario Setup: Set up and configure training/test scenarios, including replicating real-world attacks and vulnerabilities, to challenge participants.
  • Incident Response: Respond to incidents within the cyber range, such as simulated cyberattacks, and analyze the impact to improve security measures.

User Support:
  • Training Support: Provide technical support during test & exercises; assist with troubleshooting and answering questions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation on the cyber range's infrastructure, procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • User Access Management: Manage user access to the cyber range, ensuring appropriate permissions and security measures are in place.

Requirements
  • Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; additional years of experience in lieu of degree considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a Range/Test Engineer role preferred.
  • Experience with Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE).
  • IAT Level II certification required.
