Range Technician
Strategos Consulting LLC โ€“ San Diego, CA Strategos Consulting is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), which identifies and provides usable solutions (consulting, services, training, and engineering) to the US Government and its partners. Strategos is comprised of professional training and educational specialists that collectively bring over 120 years of experience. In 2009, we created Strategos Training and Services, a professional training company focused on providing services, education, and training to United States military personnel. Strategos Training and Services specializes in non-personal support services, professional instruction, training analysis, training plan development, and curriculum development.
Strategos is seeking a Range Technician in pursuit of a government contract.
Performance Location: San Diego, CA
Hours of Work: Work hours shall be 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM M-F and 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sat/Sun to equal 80 hours a week or as otherwise required in support of customer training schedules.
Summary: Be capable of capabilities and have the skills of mobile range technicians, the range maintenance positions (e.g., general maintenance workers, welder, and heavy equipment operation) and/or a combination of the two:
a. General labor skills
b. Basic Structural skills
c. Basic carpentry skills
d. Basic welding skills
e. Basic pneumatic tool skills
f. Basic electrical skills
g. Basic construction drawing interpretation skills
h. Equipment operation (forklift, 15K truck, hydraulic equipment, back-hoe, cherry picker, small earth-moving vehicles) Duties and Responsibilities: โ€ข Fabricate facades, target structures, obstacles, theatre specific gates and doors, as required.
โ€ข Fabricate and install targets made of brick, block, adobe, sheet steel, wood, drywall, corrugated steel.
โ€ข Install hollow core, solid core, residential steel industrial steel, marine grade watertight doors and hatches, gates, windows, and various locking systems for use as targets.
โ€ข Inventory management of various target types (paper, 3-D, head plates, backer board, doors, windows, and locks) to ensure proper quantities are on hand.
โ€ข Inventory management of maintenance and repair parts to ensure readiness.
โ€ข Removal of range residue. Use and maintain residue removal devices.
โ€ข Provide range capability, limitations, and safety briefs to using activities.
โ€ข Conduct pre- and post-training event inspections. Document and report damage to Range Manager or Facility Manager.
โ€ข Assist in requirements generation for raining range assigned.
โ€ข Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to various and target electronic systems and components. Systems include but are not limited to: Close Quarter Combat recording systems; range communication, audio, cameras, illuminators, special effects and range control devices, simulation devices, Location of Miss and Hit (LOMAH) targets, running target and remote-control systems.
โ€ข Understand function and use of various sensor systems for target activation.
โ€ข Calibration of target systems.
โ€ข Assist in preparing ranges and supporting documents for inspections for Range Explosive and Laser safety and compliance.
โ€ข Paint structures and devices, as required.
โ€ข Maintain static and portable range systems.
โ€ข By visual and physical inspection, ensure all range and target system safety devices, design features, and safety alarm systems operate correctly.
โ€ข Maintain and program automated range equipment (specialized training to be provided).
โ€ข Fabricate target facades of various materials to include brick and block, up to 10 feet high.
