Role Purpose Statement

This is a high‑visibility, hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives on the floor—engaging with teams, driving performance, and solving real‑time operational challenges.

As a Ramp Operations Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate all ground‑level activities related to aircraft catering and loading. You’ll actively monitor safety and productivity, ensure operational readiness, and lead by example to build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


The ideal candidate:
•     Excels in fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environments
•     Brings 2+ years of progressive leadership experience in Distribution, Logistics, or a related field
•     Has experience managing union and/or hourly workforces
•     Is proficient with workforce management scheduling and reporting tools
•     Possesses basic Microsoft Office skills
•     Demonstrates strong communication, problem‑solving, and team‑building abilities

Main Accountabilities

Supervisor Responsibility
•    Oversees daily ramp operations, including loading and unloading of catering equipment and supplies.
•    Manages ramp personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
•    Ensures compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, and TSA guidelines.
•    Conducts regular safety inspections and training sessions.
•    Coordinates with flight operations and catering teams to ensure timely and accurate loading of aircraft.
•    Monitors and optimizes ramp efficiency, including equipment utilization and workflow.
•    Resolves operational issues and problems in a timely and effective manner.
•    Maintains accurate records and reports on ramp activities and performance metrics.
•    Collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.


Leadership
•    Guide, motivate and develop staff within the Human Resources policies
•    Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
•    Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
•    Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and Production systems

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

•    Previous experience in ramp operations, distribution, logistics or a related field.
•    Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
•    In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations and procedures.
•    Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•    Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
•    Valid driver's license and ability to operate ground service equipment.
 

Nice to have skills:
•    Previous airline catering or aviation logistics
•    Experience with labor control and forecasting
•   Strong incident reporting, compliance, and documentation skills
