Job description

The Opportunity:
Our client is looking for an experienced Inside Sales / Quotation Specialist to support the preparation of accurate, high-quality quotations for custom electrical power distribution equipment. This is a technical quoting role - not a traditional inside sales position - and is ideal for someone with experience in switchgear, motor control centers, or other electrical distribution equipment who enjoys working closely with sales, engineering, and customers to deliver winning proposals.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Prepare accurate quotations for medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear, motor control centers, switchboards, and related products.
  • Review customer RFQs, specifications, one-line diagrams, and drawings to determine project scope and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate vendor pricing, prepare quote packages, and manage quote revisions to ensure timely submissions.
  • Utilize manufacturer configuration tools and collaborate with Applications Engineering when technical review is required.
  • Maintain CRM records, track quote activity, and support customer and sales follow-up throughout the quotation process.
  • Help improve quoting processes, documentation, and quote-to-order handoffs to ensure smooth project execution.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • Experience quoting or estimating electrical power distribution equipment, switchgear, MCCs, switchboards, or similar engineered products.
  • Ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams, specifications, RFQs, and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of electrical equipment, major components, and technical configurations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with sales, engineering, vendors, and customers.
  • Experience with manufacturer quoting tools (such as Eaton BidManager), CRM systems, or OEM/distributor environments is considered an asset.
