Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the manufacturing quality process in order to meet (and exceed) internal and external customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain quality-related documents such as procedures, records of inspections, and SOPs (Standard operating procedures).
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to solve all quality-related issues.
  • Prepare, analyze and present Quality reports at DRT meeting as per cadence set by Customer.
  • Participate and support Quality improvement processes as part of the DRT (defect reduction team) or QIT (quality improvement team).
  • Provide guidance, direction, and review to Quality Inspectors and OBAs (out of box auditors).
  • Prioritize and lead corrective actions for EQIRs/QNARs raised by customer for failed materials and other quality issues reported from the field and/or in process.
  • Perform FAI (first article inspection) on NPI (new product introduction), FCS (first customer shipment), and ECN (engineering change notification) products. Work towards developing associated SOPs for applicable quality stations.
  • Review and disposition Non-conforming material and work towards solutions to reduce scrap.
  • Review planning readiness for NPI, ECO (engineering change order), and deviation implementation.
  • Coordinate and support all purge and rework, provide timely feedback to customer for all Purge related activities via email and/or customer Portal.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment and problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Quality improvement processes and systems required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects/requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • SAP, Six Sigma, and ISO knowledge preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
  • Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment.
  • Must be willing to work the night shift.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 4 years of direct quality experience.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field with 2 years of direct quality experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 1 year related quality experience required, 3 years preferred.

Manufacturing experience is a plus.
