Job description

Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company's Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global's modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Director, Quality Operations located in Houston, TX.

Overview

The Senior Director - Quality, Operations will lead the operational quality strategy and execution for Venture Global's LNG facilities, supporting operations, maintenance, and reliability activities across Calcasieu Pass LNG and Plaquemines LNG.

This role ensures quality excellence across routine operations, planned turnarounds, and both scheduled and emergent outages. The leader will drive rigorous QA/QC practices, defect elimination, and operational discipline across all operational activities.

The role partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, HSSE, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure that maintenance execution, repairs, modifications, and outage work meet the highest standards of reliability and safety.

This leader will serve as the enterprise operational quality authority and ensure strong field presence, audit rigor, and governance for non-conformance management, stop-the-line authority, root cause analysis, and lessons learned implementation across sites.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Quality Leadership

  • Lead operational quality programs across operations including maintenance execution, support reliability improvement initiatives, turnarounds and outages, equipment repairs, and contractor oversight.
  • Ensure consistent application of QA/QC standards across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, rotating equipment, and all systems.
  • Drive a culture where quality is owned by operations and supported by quality leadership.
  • Turnaround and Outage Quality Governanc
  • Provide quality leadership for planned turnarounds and outages including planning, readiness reviews, inspection verification, contractor oversight, and final work acceptance.
  • Establish quality checkpoints across scope development, readiness, execution oversight, and closeout.
  • Ensure restoration of critical equipment meets OEM and engineering specifications.
  • Field Quality Assurance & Audits.
  • Conduct field walkdowns, maintenance execution audits, contractor inspections, and mechanical integrity reviews.
  • Maintain visible field presence reinforcing operational discipline and quality ownership.

Non-Conformance Management

  • Own the enterprise operational non-conformance management process working closely with operations to ensure all defects are captured and seamless approach working with Operations.
  • Ensure accurate defect identification, classification, prioritization, and closure.
  • Manage systems that capture defects, quality issues, and maintenance execution problems.

Stop-the-Line Authority

  • Establish and reinforce a Stop-the-Line culture ensuring employees can halt work when quality or safety standards are compromised.
  • Ensure rapid resolution and documentation of issues.

Root Cause Analysis Leadership

  • Lead/Support RCA investigations for major equipment failures or reliability issues.
  • Drive CAPA closure and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.

Cross-Site Lessons Learned Program

  • Develop and institutionalize lessons learned programs across Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines.
  • Translate learnings into updated procedures, training content, and engineering improvements.

Contractor Quality Management

  • Govern contractor quality performance during outages and maintenance work.
  • Establish quality expectations, oversight processes, and performance metrics.

Quality Culture & Workforce Engagement

  • Drive a culture of operational quality through training, leadership engagement, and frontline ownership.
  • Partner with training teams to embed QA/QC expectations into workforce development.

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Track operational quality KPIs including rework rates, turnaround performance, defect recurrence, and non-conformance closure times.
  • Provide executive dashboards and reporting on operational quality performance.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or related discipline required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in LNG operations, oil & gas operations, petrochemical facilities, or heavy industrial process plants.
  • 10+ years in quality, reliability, or operations leadership roles.
  • Experience supporting turnarounds and outages in complex industrial facilities preferred.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong expertise in LNG operations and maintenance practices.
  • Deep knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with mechanical integrity programs and maintenance quality processes.
  • Experience implementing operational QA/QC programs in energy environments.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Reliability or maintenance certifications
