The Opportunity

You will serve as a vital link between design and production, ensuring every modular home project is backed by accurate costing and seamless material flow. This role empowers you to manage critical vendor relationships and technical data for a company with a forty-year legacy of construction excellence. You will make a tangible impact by optimizing costs and procurement strategies to deliver high-quality, stick-built homes that exceed customer expectations.


How You Will Make an Impact
  • Analyze architectural drawings and specifications to determine precise material requirements and quantities.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for doors, kitchens, and specialized material packages to ensure project profitability.
  • Execute weekly purchase orders and manage vendor communications to secure competitive pricing and reliable lead times.
  • Maintain the Inventory Management System by creating part numbers and tracking custom materials for factory operations.
  • Resolve supply chain bottlenecks by researching alternative materials when cost, quality, or availability issues arise.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Sales teams to align material procurement with custom customer selections and build schedules.
  • Monitor market trends for construction materials to recommend strategic cost-saving opportunities to leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications for material take-offs.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for data management and reporting.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a demonstrated track record of meeting tight deadlines in a production environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills necessary for managing external vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Consistent history of reliability and accountability in a professional setting.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Prior experience in purchasing, estimating, or procurement specifically within the construction or manufacturing sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of residential construction materials, including millwork, kitchens, and fixtures.
  • Experience utilizing Smartsheet or ERP systems for inventory and project tracking.
  • Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent technical training.
