Compensation Range: 95,300-145,000 plus quarterly sales bonus

Job Purpose

The Services Estimating Manager oversees the team responsible for developing accurate labor, material, and subcontractor cost estimates for service-based projects. This role ensures that all estimates align with operational capabilities, established pricing strategies, and project profitability goals. The manager coordinates with sales, project management, and field operations to ensure estimates accurately reflect real-world execution conditions and scope requirements. Additionally, the role maintains estimating tools and historical data libraries to support team efficiency and consistency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of service estimators, providing technical guidance and performance coaching.
  • Operational Delivery: Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of estimates, proposals, and pre-sale documentation to meet project deadlines.
  • Quality Control: Review and approve team estimates for accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with margin targets.
  • Data Maintenance: Support the maintenance of pricing databases, including labor rates, materials, and subcontractor costs.
  • Internal Collaboration: Partner with sales and operations to clarify project scope, identifying potential constraints or value-add opportunities.
  • Process Efficiency: Utilize and refine estimating templates and workflows to reduce turnaround time and maintain consistency across the team.
  • Performance Tracking: Manage and report on KPIs associated with the delivery and accuracy of estimates and proposals.
  • Risk Assessment: Ensure team estimates account for safety, logistics, and execution risks.
  • Customer Support: Assist with proposal creation and participate in customer bid reviews as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in cost estimating or proposal development, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of service operations, including labor planning and material costing.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and advanced Microsoft Excel (cost models, pivot tables).
  • Proven ability to manage a team under tight deadlines across multiple project types.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on margin discipline and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and CRM platforms preferred.
