Job Responsibilities:

General Job Duties:

Specific Job Duties:

  • Responsible to the Purchasing Manager for the procurement of supplies and/or equipment for all departments; and performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Receive and interview vendor representatives to keep abreast of developments, negotiate prices, service, quality or other matters.
  • In conjunction with the Purchasing Manager, develop and investigate new sources of supply, make recommendations as to their approval.
  • Maintain effective liaison with all departments to present alternatives offered by suppliers, modification of design, standardization of parts or material, or other matters of mutual concern.
  • Creates, maintains updated product/vendor information. Ability to work with ERP system effectively.
  • Assists departments in defining purchasing needs and resolving associated problems.
  • Prepares and presents reports.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Must have the ability to create, manipulate, and maintain Microsoft Office Applications (mainly Excel and Word)
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English mandatory
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required to accomplish the job.

Education:

  • An A.S. Degree or some college is preferred but high school GED or diploma along with diversified procurement and negotiation experience will be accepted in lieu of the degree.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours, this does include walking up and down stairs frequently.
  • The ability to lift up to15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis is required.
  • Work below the knees and above the shoulders will be required.
  • Be able to work near alcohols, solvent, paints, or plastic sanding dust.
  • Be able to wear a respirator when needed.
  • Good vision at a close distance and the ability to distinguish color is required with or without the use of corrective lenses.
  • This position requires the ability to hear alarms with or without the use of hearing aids.

Training Requirements:

  • You will receive training to perform your job on an on-going basis concurrent with Decostar business operations. Training areas will include safety, quality, continuous improvement and other job specific training that is determined to be an essential part of your job and Decostar business operations.
